It's a new year, and I hope it's great for all of you. Life's too short not to enjoy the ride. This post is just a heads up to wish you well, and mention a couple of things my followers can look forward to.

The first change is an addition to the newsletter, and website. I'll be posting the unedited first draft of an upcoming novel called, The Covens of Misty Haven. in the newsletter, and posting it here when the next chapter comes out the following month.

I also hope to have a few Author introductions this year.

FantasyCon 2017 is in planning, and will be more like a blog hop this year. There will be some great prizes, and numerous authors for you to connect with. We'll be showcasing guest posts on the website soon. I'll be sharing more on that later.

My Character Madness and Musings blog will be showcasing my characters this year, as well as games, musings of course, and guest posts from other authors. I also hope to do more reviews this year.

The rest is all writing, planning, and publishing. I'll be working like a crazy woman to finish the stories sitting on the back-burners these last few months and longer.

Happy new year everyone. I hope to get to know you all a little better in 2017.

Don't walk behind me; I may not lead. Don't walk in front of me; I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend.

We all have people who share our journey. Some make us better  or stronger along the way. This page is for those that have worked, or walked beside me for a season or more. I hope you'll check out their links and get to know them too. I'll be adding to the list often.

Kat Caffee's Pukah Works
Kat was one of the first bloggers to review my stories. She loved it so much that we became friends and have helped each other out when we were in a bind, since we were both new to self-publishing at that time. The woman is a cyclone of energy these days, and has more books to release as well as a backlog of books waiting to be reviewed.

Assaph Mehr
Assaph has had his nose in a book since he was five, and had to yell at the librarian that he can read already so he could get a card. With a rather diverse taste in reading - from fantasy to philosophy, from ancient times to the far future - his first novel Murder In Absentia is an “historically-themed urban high-fantasy hardboiled murder mystery, with just a dash of horror”.

After years of reading and only dreaming of seeing his name in print, he suddenly started writing in 2015. He owes this to his wife, who complained that there was nothing good left to read. Once the challenge was accepted and Murder In Absentia was born, Assaph just kept on writing - short stories, flash fiction, and now a second full length novel. You can find them all on egretia.com.

Her post-apocalyptic novels Population and Saltlands were published in 2015 and 2016, respectively, and her unpublished young adult book, The Rougarou, was awarded the 2015 Tu Books New Vision Awards for outstanding fiction among authors of color. Scott Carruba
Born in Houston, Texas into the temporary care of a bevy of nuns before being delivered to his adopted parents, Scott discovered creative writing at a very young age when asked to write a newspaper from another planet. This exercise awakened a seemingly endless drive, and now, many short stories, poems, plays, and novels (both finished and unfinished) later, his first book, "Dance of the Butterfly", has been published.

The seeds for this tale began with dreams, as many often do, before being fine-tuned with a whimsical notion and the very serious input of a dear friend. Before long, the story took on a life of its own and has now become the first book in a planned series.

Having lived his whole life in the same state, Scott attended the University of Texas at Austin, achieving a degree in philosophy before returning to the Houston area to be closer to family and friends. During this time, he wrote more and even branched out into directing and performance art, though creative writing remains his love.

Pretentious Boxed Set Volumes 1-5

Available to read on Kindle Unlimited and Prime, or purchase your copy here. http://tinyurl.com/Pretentious1-5

I always like to reflect when the new year is near, and do a little planning as well. Here are a few things to look forward to.

Pretentious will continue to be published on the 20th of the month, and I'll be publishing omnibus editions to save a little money for those who prefer to buy it in a series. Each omnibus' will be a set of five volumes.

Silas, the sequel to The Carriage, will be released in February, The goal is February 6th if everything works out as planned.

I have an anthology called Hordes of Dragons, that I'm working on with a number of other talented authors, This will be published in July, and i have another called Reflections of Love that is a fantasy romance, scheduled to release in September.

I also hope to publish The Covens of Misty Haven, and book two of Veiled Memories.

There are more surprises, but this is a lot, and I'm pushing full steam ahead to get these done. Since a number of 2016's releases are novellas or novelettes, it shouldn't take as much time to get through them.

Have a great new year everyone. Thank you so much for following me.

Jena

Danny promised his dying father he would take care of the family, but a promise looks much different when someone is twelve than it does at sixteen. When his sister leaves for college, he realizes he’s trapped in his father’s dream. He runs the family restaurant with his mother and tucks his own dreams away, until he falls in love with Aryn, a girl in his chorus class.

In volume 5 - Graduation has passed, and Danny and Aryn are married. But Kevin’s in town and he has his eye on Aryn, while Carly is pursuing Danny. Can their relationship withstand the attacks?

Pretentious is a series of YA/NA novellas that follow Danny and Aryn in their attempt to create a band and follow their dreams, while honoring Danny’s commitment to take care of his mother, a nurturing Italian woman everyone calls Mama, and his sister, Becky. It’s a story about family, commitment, love and the confusion of betrayal.
